Studies in Women's Adolescence]Tilmann Walter (Germany)Abstract: Sexual maturity in humans is accompanied by a variety of changes, among which are the necessity to leave behind one's role as a child and to constitute oneself as an adult woman or man: gender identity and sexuality have to be established and learned. In her impressive and informative book Karin FLAAKE investigates, with psychoanalytic methods, the difficulties young women experience in adolescence. Using interviews and meticulously sketched psychic processes, FLAAKE explores familiar conflicts related to young women's sexual maturity, menstruation, changing of bodily habitus and sexual desire. Key words: female adolescence, sexuality, qualitative interviews, psychoanalysis This contribution is only available as a full text in the German language.
