By reconstructing central paradigms of sociological youth and youth culture research, the review tries to establish youth culture as a time-specific solution of juvenile behavior uncertainties. With the stress on explanation patterns of social change such as "disembedding" (in the notion of Anthony GIDDENS) and emphasis on the description of a scene and event culture, the anthology fails to offer deeper insight into the lives of young people apart from techno events, thereby missing its goal to release the Techno culture from prejudices.
