Abstract: Arnulf DEPPERMANN's book provides social researchers with concrete application knowledge, action orientation and hermeneutic methods. This knowledge and these tools enable researchers to appropriately understand and interpret texts regarding verbal interactions and communication. Readers are introduced in a step-by-step process into conversation and text analysis as a part of empirical social research. Conversation analysis is presented on different application levels. This book is especially suited for beginners in this area of research.
