Review: Andrea D. Bührmann (2020). Reflexive Diversitätsforschung [The Reflexive Diversity Research Program]

Abstract

In this review I will first trace the central epistemological foundations and the methodological consequences of reflexive diversity research as presented by Andrea D. BÜHRMANN. I then outline some key points of the practical example provided in the book. Finally, I present further consequences that do not (yet) appear to be fully implemented in the book. Specifically, I argue for a clearer consideration of ethical aspects, a stronger transdisciplinary orientation, and a clearer focus on shared learning and reflection processes between researchers and those being researched.
