Author Biography

Nina Leonhard, Sozialwissenschaftliches Institut der Bundeswehr

Nina LEONHARD; born in 1972; studied political science in Berlin and Paris; since 1998 PhD in political science on "Political and Historical Consciousness in an Intergenerative Comparison: the Development of the Memory of the Period between 1933 and 1945 in the Course of Three Generations in East and West Germany" at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris; participation in a research project sponsored by the Volkswagen Foundation on "Processes and factors of the constitution of democratic political identity in post-dictatorial societies". Research interests: comparative research on political culture; relations between individual and collective memory; relations between generations; Soviet prisons and camps in the Soviet occupied zone of Germany (1945-49) and in the GDR.
