Abstract

Qualitative researchers encounter a diverse plethora of software packages for analyzing text and visual data. This book is designed to help potential users understand the benefits and shortcomings of three main and four additional commonly used such software and based on this understanding, make an informed choice of a software that best fits the needs of particular projects as well as preferences of individual researchers. Author Biography

Roni Berger, Adelphi University

Roni BERGER is a professor at the Adelphi University School of Social Work and a consultant to various mental health and social service organizations. Dr. BERGER holds a BSW, MSW and PhD from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel and a Diploma in Psychotherapy from Tel Aviv Medical School. Her fields of expertise include families, specifically stepfamilies and non-traditional families, immigrants, posttraumatic growth, and group work. She has served as a visiting professor in Australia and a Fulbright Scholar in Hong Kong. Prior to her immigration to the United States in 1990, she worked in Israel in academia, direct practice with individuals, families and groups, and, supervisory, administrative and consulting positions in diverse social, medical and educational settings. She also directed a program for training parent group facilitators in The Bob Shapell School of Social Work in Tel Aviv University.
